Unable to meet the passenger capacity Turkey planned to build a new airport Istanbul Turkey has three airports in place but they are still in a crunch and are unable to meet the demands of increasing air traffic The ceremony to begin its construction was held on June 7 2014 Officially its construction began only in the month of May 2015 The construction of the New Istanbul Airport is still under construction and is due to be inaugurated on the October 29 2018 The work of the airport will continue until 2030 for the government plans on making Istanbul New Airport a world-class airport that will comprise of medical centres office buildings conference centres mosques hotels etc
