How To Write A Killer Elevator Pitch With Helpful Examples

TRANSCRIPT Hey guys Welcome to another video with Maria Wendt Today we're talking about how to write your elevator pitch I'm going to walk you through it Just so you know the most important part about your elevator pitch is that it gets people to want to work with you or to learn more about working with you so that's what we're going to start this whole process out with It's just by giving you some clarity on why you need an elevator pitch But before we go ahead and start what you need to do is kind of hover over that profile image of me you're going to see a red button that's going to pop up it's going to say subscribe and I recommend that you do that if you want all my marketing hacks all my little secrets to getting more clients online making more money and ultimately becoming a successful business owner Go ahead and do that if you don't want to miss out on any of my important videos All right so how do you write an elevator pitch Let's do this First thing you need to know is that it's probably going to be a process It's going to take you some time to really feel super confident and super clear in your elevator pitch and that's okay what we're going to do now is we're going to write a draft of it we're going to write sort of a starting point but just know that as the years go on you're probably going to refine your elevator pitch and that's okay but let's get you started on the right foot with this formula that I'm going to walk you through So the first thing that you need to know the first step in writing your pitch is to know that your elevator pitch it's not about you It's about what your ideal client needs So a lot of times people say Oh I'm an online marketer I'm a digital marketer and I work with mid-size businesses That's not what your ideal client wants to hear They want to hear I help small businesses make more money through the power of marketing online or through the power of their website or if you're a health coach don't say Oh I'm a health coach and I work at a gym Say I help busy moms lose weight without spending a ton of time at the gym That's an amazing elevator pitch That's something that's going to get the attention of your ideal clients right So the first thing you need to do when you're writing your elevator pitch is write it from the perspective of your client's needs Second thing that your elevator pitch should have is intrigue people it should make them want to ask more Someone saying Oh I'm a digital marketer that's not really interesting but when I tell people I help entrepreneurs get more clients they're always interested in it they also are intrigued they always have follow up questions because the work I do it honestly is really exciting It's really interesting and I'm very passionate about it and when I tell people about it they want to learn more they want to ask more because the idea of being an entrepreneur online making money online it's very intriguing to the average person and they want to learn how to do it themselves So make your elevator pitch intriguing and get them to ask more Finally keep it short Most times if you aren't saying something really simple like I'm a digital marketer you're going on and on and you're talking about your business and no one cares really Just keep it short So for me I just say I help people make more money online and I help them get more clients or I say something very simple like I help entrepreneurs make more money online That's very simple it's very short it's to the point and it's all people need to know about me at that point If they want to ask more questions I'm happy to answer them but at this point just knowing that I help entrepreneurs make more money online or I help entrepreneurs get more clients that's all they need to know So it's really important to keep it short and not ramble on and on So guys thank you so much for watching this video hopefully it helped give you a little bit of clarity on how to write an elevator pitch If you have follow up questions drop them in the comments below I reply to every comment and if you want more information on how to grow your business how to make money online how to get more clients I have tons of free resources for you at my website mariawendt com lots of good stuff for you go check it out and I'll see in the next video
