Hi there My name is Maria Wendt and I'm the brand strategist for female entrepreneurs I help you guys make more money through the power of your brands Today we're talking about how to brand yourself even if you have no idea what you're doing And trust me that's pretty common Branding can seem really overwhelming and really intimidating What we're going to do on this video is we're going to break it down so that it feels really easy and really accessible So grab your pens grab your papers get your notebooks out let's take some notes and just kind of go through this together The first thing that you're going to do and you can see I'm following along here on my notes first thinking that you're going to do is you're going to ask yourself the three most important branding questions When I work with my clients we kind of go over each one of these questions together The first question is who are you And I don't mean Oh I'm a copywriter or Oh I'm a designer or Oh I'm a coach Really who are you What is the things that turn you on that get you excited that motivate you Why are you starting a business in the first place Why are you doing this What do people need to know about you right So dig deep with this question Who are you I kind of help understand this from the perspective not just of you but of your potential clients Do they see you as a mentor as an influencer as a leader right So the first question really is who are you That helps us understand better sort of where you fit in the world and the kind of impact that you're going to make The second question is what do you do And again this is not a question that you want to answer with Oh I write copy or I write sales pages or I design logos or I give people nutrition plans What do you do on a deep level What difference do you make on a deep level for your clients What do you do during the day How do you motivate How do you inspire right We're looking for big words here like inspire or challenge or get results right So we're not looking for a job description or a daily task description We're looking for what you do on a deep level which actually leads us to our third question which is why does it matter Why does the work that you do matter What difference are you making All of us are making a difference in some way shape or form But I want you to really think about why does it matter Why does your work matter to you Why does it matter to your family Why does it matter to your clients Why does it matter to your industry Why does the work that you do have deep importance And why does it matter So again step one in all of this is to answer the three crucial branding questions which are who are you what do you do and why does it matter I recommend that you post your paper out and just started journaling through all of these questions Take your time Don't rush them Get some peppermint tea Do whatever you need to do to get some good deep answers on these three questions because that's going to really help you understand a little bit more about yourself a little bit more about your business and a little bit more about where you fit into this big picture of female entrepreneurs The second thing that you need to do is you need to take some time and really think about where you want to be in the next five years in the next 10 years et cetera Your brand is so much more than just a logo It's so much more than just pretty graphics It's a deep transformation of your business Basically what we do when my clients and I work together is we take the intangible the best parts about you all the things people love about you We take those intangible things and we turn them into something tangible
