There is a lesson to learn from the 5th Element
I am not talking about what is within the plot of the movie, THE 5th Element, although it did carry a very strong plot and message about Good and Evil.
What I am referring to is the FAILURE/FLOP review that the critics of that time gave this movie.
They really laid into Bruce Willis and the movies validity etc.
I remember watching a couple of critics spend about 15 minutes taking potshots at the movie back when it first came out.
Their negative reviews never made any sense to me because I was lucky enough to catch the movie the 5th Element the day that it premiered at The Fireweed Theatre in Anchorage, Alaska. In fact, to this day it is such a vivid, vibrant and positive memory that I have never forgotten a single minute of that day.
It was a family outing, and our entire clan descended on the Theatre. At that time there must have been 10 or more of us there that night! My mother was there, my Aunt Dot and even my Ex husband I believe... may they all rest in peace. It was a magic day...
But what I want to concentrate on is the fact that they called the movie a flop!
This is amazing to me because this movie only seems to be picking up steam as the decades progress.
How could they have gotten things so wrong?
What was it that made them PAN what is now one of the best movies OF ALL TIME?
Sometimes failures happen like this...
I saw this happen in real life too...
A good example is DOJA CAT.
To many people, DOJA CAT seems like a miraculous overnight sensation, but if you really investigate, you will find that she was out there pushing out music for YEARS and NO ONE PAID HER NO MIND!
What makes DOJA a Star, and The 5th Element Classic is that they are PERFECTION!
Perhaps Doja is not your cup of tea, or The 5th Element seems like a comic to you...
It doesn't matter, because the truth is: Their work is solid.
The 5th Element stood the test of 25 years of time and it still looks brand new whenever I watch it.. and I STILL watch it! Unlike some movies where 1x is enough, I can not count how many times I have gleefully say through that movie. That is genius. They obviously created a masterpiece.
Doja Cat created loads of music that never hit, UNTIL NOW, because her work is solidiy good!
Doja was ALWAYS a star, people just did not see her light yet.
The 5th Element was always an Amazing movie, those critics just did not have vision.
Perhaps you too are like the 5th Element, Doja Cat, Dante's Peak, even P. Diddy.
The Legend of P. Diddy - Multi Millionaire Music Mogul
P. Diddy did not really come into his own acclaim until Biggie Smalls passed away.
When he made the remake of Every Breath I take, his fame was sealed forever.
The crazy thing is that the song was created in memory of his best friend who passed.
P. Diddy was ALWAYS A musical genius, it is just that many never realized it until he put all those voices together in memory of his slain friend. He became one of the most sought after record producers with that Grammy win, and his fate was sealed.
Let this be a message to ALWAYS CREATE QUALITY WORK!
I think about this often.
Because you never know who is watching and waiting to support you.
Continue on, stay strong, stay positive and do your best every time.
Many Blessings,
Adrienne (CapricornTigress)
